Jiu Jitsu Is for Everyone
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu isn’t about fighting or becoming a professional athlete.
It’s about learning how to move your body, protect yourself, and grow confidence—at your own pace.
People come to jiu jitsu for many reasons:
To get stronger and healthier
To learn practical self-defense
To build confidence and mental resilience
To challenge themselves in a supportive environment
You don’t have to compete.
You don’t have to be “tough.”
You just have to be willing to start.
Our gym is built for everyday people—adults and kids—who want to learn something valuable, move their bodies, and be part of a community.
Meet the Coaches
Levi Stevicks
Levi grew up in Lyndon and was introduced to martial arts as an adult after joining a mixed martial arts gym in Topeka. While he competed in amateur MMA, it was Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that truly captured his interest.
He was drawn to jiu jitsu for its focus on personal growth, problem-solving, and steady improvement within a supportive community. Levi went on to train and coach at a jiu jitsu gym in Lawrence, where he developed a passion for teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and creating a safe, encouraging training environment.
After recently moving back to the area with his family, Levi is excited to bring jiu jitsu home—sharing the benefits of the art with the community that shaped him.
Joe Walsh
Joe grew up in Lyndon and was first introduced to mixed martial arts through watching events and following the sport. This eventually led him to step onto the mats himself and try it firsthand.
Joe began training at a jiu jitsu at Criqui BJJ in Topeka, learning through consistency and effort. Over time, that perseverance turned into a genuine passion for martial arts and the personal growth that comes with it.
For Joe, training became an important outlet—building confidence, improving physical fitness, and creating a sense of community. Excited to bring those benefits home, he is proud to help share martial arts with the Lyndon community and provide a positive space where others can grow as well.

Gi Classes:
A jiu jitsu gi is required for gi classes. If you don’t have one yet, that’s okay. For your first class or two, you may wear comfortable athletic clothing you don’t mind getting tugged or stretched, such as a t-shirt or sweatshirt/hoodie and athletic pants.Gi training involves gripping and pulling, so avoid anything you’d be upset to see stretched or worn. We’re happy to help you choose a gi once you decide to continue training.
No-Gi Classes:
Wear athletic clothing such as a rash guard or fitted t-shirt and shorts or leggings. Clothing should not have zippers. -
